So you need parts and just like me your on a shoestring budget? welcome to our depressed economy but I would love to share some fundamentals in saving money as you need to be thrifty to stay ahead. if you have a large or big ticket item failure on your automobile most garages are accustom to contacting parts houses for items such as leaf springs, replacement motors, transmissions, trans axles, differentials and transfer cases (awd or 4wd equipped only. a replacement long block will range anywhere from 1100.00 to 3000.00 usd. to rich for my blood i am a survivor and use a couple of great sources so I'd love to give them a plug here (bear with me) Nordstroms in south Dakota is wonderful great customer service along with very affordable pricing will have you back on the road in no time. also for motors or transmissions I shop EBay frequently as Allot of motors on ebay ship with warranties (contact seller via email with questions) and these two resources will shave hundreds of dollars off of your repair and have you up and running in no time. I need to also recommend here that you check with all of your local wrecking yards as there are allot of great parts still readilly available always ask for the part with the lowest mileage obviously to get the most bang for your buck. Allot of salvage yards run the motors before pulling to do compression tests and they will offer you these numbers important to listen as a motor with readings within 10 percent of all other cylinders is a great candidate a motor with one low hole would be a better candidate for a builder motor.

Now, I have a direct search Bar tied into eBay so if you need a major part or component for your car give it a try using relevant search terms IE:1986 Chevy 350, 1932 ford Flathead v8 or whatever your application might be there is a fair chance they might have it.
